Decades of research has described the prevalence of burnout, the workplace mismatches that aggravate burnout, and its consequences on wellbeing and productivity. The Burnout Challenge describes what needs to happen to prevent burnout from happening. The key is not so much building individual resilience as designing work that does not require quite so much resilience.
