A consistent message at the Annual China EAP Forum in Beijing was that a national agenda has developed supporting the idea of people flourishing in their jobs. The economic climate of China had developed in ways that supported the application of sophisticated skills and orientations throughout the workforce. The growth of EAP (Employee Assistance Programs) in China over the past decade acknowledged the importance of this dimension of work, including the responsibility of employers to facilitate employees. People need help both avoiding burnout and developing engagement in their work.
It was fascinating to participate in the Forum and it will be fascinating to see how these qualities develop in the coming years.
